About Chaplaincy
Lisa is Lead Chaplain at an outpatient cancer center, where she serves patients, caregivers, and staff in some of the most pivotal times in their lives.
“What a humbling privilege to walk alongside people through significant life changes—times that are rich with potential for learning, growth, and healing. A new diagnosis brings challenge, of course, but also invites the best of human resilience.”
Integrating her personal and professional experiences, Lisa has a keen interest in healing arts for both patients and staff, including individual practices, group classes, and reflective retreats.
Lisa is a graduate of Guilford College in Greensboro, NC, where she majored in Environmental Studies and German, with a minor in Religious Studies. She earned her Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Earlham School of Religion in Richmond, IN, with an emphasis in Spirituality.
After completing two yearlong chaplain residencies, an extensive essay application, and a formal interview with a panel of professional chaplains, Lisa became a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) through the Board of Chaplaincy Certification, Inc. She is a member of the Association of Professional Chaplains and the North Carolina Chaplains Association.
Lisa was system-wide division Employee of the Year in her hospital system in 2015.
